Lord History

Russell Lord has been a diamond mounter in Hatton Garden since 1974. During his many years in the trade, he has taught many apprentices who have now gone onto running there own successful businesses, he has made Jewellery for high profile clients including the royal family and he has been awarded the ‘Freedom of the City’

The Freedom of the City  is an honour bestowed by a municipality upon a valued member of the community, or upon a visiting celebrity or dignitary. This is a high award and achievement for Russell, who has hand made his own Jewellery since he was just 17.

We have a full time employed watch maker who is part of the team, and Russell’s life long friend. We can do all watch & clock repairs on site. Nothing we do is farmed out, everything is done by us.
We will always fly the British flag high, as we know there are very few people around who can do what Russell can do – Which is why we provide a service like no other.

We have our own workshop In Hatton garden London. Our workshop is made up by Russell’s two middle children Sarah & Robert & Russell’s brother who is a diamond setter and polishers.
Robert is in his apprentice currently, with Russell as his master, and he is learning to make Jewellery hand made on the bench – the proper and traditional way. Sarah Runs the office, orders the diamonds and metal and keeps the ship tight.
We are not an ordinary Retail shop selling Jewellery that is branded and brought in… We make everything ourselves and all of our jewellery has been hand made. We are a family run business and from the knowledge Russell has gained over the past years, no job is too difficult. We can make you anything you like, with designs or a rough sketch.
