The condition of each item is photographed at the time of booking. These images are time-stamped and securely stored within our system.
Any existing damage, wear, loose stones, scratches, dents, or visible imperfections will be noted and recorded.
These records act as confirmation of the item’s condition when it was entrusted to us and may be referred to if required.
2. Items Leaving Our Care
All goods are returned in good working order following completion of the agreed work.
Once an item has been collected and has left our premises, responsibility transfers to the customer.
Lords cannot be held responsible for loss, damage, or issues that occur after the item has been collected.
3. Job SKU & Pricing
At the time of booking, some jobs may be entered with an SKU value of £0.00. This applies to repairs or bespoke work where a final cost cannot be accurately determined in advance.
Pricing is dependent on time, materials, and the nature of the work required.
Where possible, a verbal estimate may be provided upon request.
An SKU of £0.00 does not represent the final price payable.
4. Condition & Pre-existing Damage
All items are inspected upon receipt, and any visible issues will be documented.
This includes scratches, thinning metal, worn claws, loose settings, previous repairs, or structural weaknesses.
Lords cannot be held responsible for pre-existing conditions that may worsen during the course of work, including cleaning, resizing, or repair.
5. Risk & Liability
Jewellery and watch repairs carry inherent risks, particularly with older, delicate, or previously altered pieces.
While every care is taken, Lords is not liable for:
Pre-existing flaws that worsen during work
Stones becoming loose due to worn or weakened settings
Damage resulting from undisclosed prior repairs or treatments
For items held on-site overnight or longer, robust security measures are in place. However, Lords cannot be held responsible for events beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to theft, fire, or natural disasters.
6. Valuables & Insurance
Customers are advised to ensure their items are adequately insured while in our care.
Lords holds its own insurance; however, this covers assessed market value only and does not extend to sentimental value.
7. Timeframes & Collection
Any timeframes provided are estimates and not guaranteed.
Customers will be notified once work is complete.
Items must be collected within 90 days of notification.
Lords reserves the right to apply storage charges for items not collected within this timeframe.
8. Ring Sizing Agreement
Ring sizes are agreed with the customer at the time of consultation and booking.
Once the customer has confirmed and left the premises, this size is considered final.
Lords cannot be held responsible for changes in finger size due to temperature, lifestyle, weight fluctuation, any new health issues (such as arthritis) or personal preference after the order has been placed.
Any resizing required after completion will be treated as a new job and may incur additional charges.
Customers are encouraged to take time during the fitting process to ensure the correct size is selected.
9. Consent to Work
By signing this waiver, the customer authorises Lords to carry out the agreed work and acknowledges the associated risks.
If additional work is required beyond the original scope, a separate quotation will be provided and approval obtained before proceeding.
10. Final Inspection & Acceptance
Customers are expected to inspect their item at the time of collection.
By signing upon collection, the customer confirms satisfaction with the completed work.
Once the item has been accepted and removed from the premises, Lords cannot accept responsibility for any subsequent claims or issues.
