Anthea came to us with her mother’s wedding ring. She wanted to keep it close, but also make sure it became part of something she actually wears every day. She already had her three stone diamond pendant that never comes off, with each diamond representing one of her daughters, so we knew that was the piece to work with.

Her first idea was to add a small tag at the back of the chain, but in reality that would never sit right and would constantly move. So instead, we melted the ring down and reshaped it into a flat heart, then soldered it onto the back of her pendant. Hidden, secure, and always with her.

Some of our long-standing clients will remember when every bespoke piece we made started with a hand drawing. Before computer designs were common, we would sit down with a pencil and sketch out exactly how a piece would look. It was the best way to bring an idea to life and show a client what their jewellery could become.

In this video we’re talking about one piece in particular. It was designed for a very large natural blue sapphire for one of our London clients. It was many years ago now and we can’t even remember the exact size of the stone, only that it was exceptional. A sapphire like that deserved something carefully considered, so the design began the way many of our pieces once did, with a simple hand drawing.

On paper, one is a higher colour and more expensive, but it has a lower clarity. The other is cheaper, slightly lower in colour, yet when you see them side by side, I genuinely think it is the better stone.

This is the point. If you only shop by the certificate and keep pushing up in colour or clarity because it sounds better, you can end up paying more for a diamond that does not actually look better to your eye. Numbers matter, but what you see in person matters more.

Always compare. Always view the stones properly. The right diamond is not always the highest grade on paper, it is the one that looks right to you.

Debbie came to us with a white gold pendant she’d only owned a couple of weeks. Beautiful piece. Just not quite her.

From our workshop straight to Dubai, this ring marks a special moment for one of my closest friends, and it reminded me how powerful it is to create jewellery for people you truly care about, even when they’re thousands of miles away. Every piece we make carries a story, and seeing our work travel across the world is something we never take for granted.

Recently we’ve been creating more and more bespoke pieces for clients who find us through Instagram, WhatsApp, and our website from all over the UK. Behind the setting we carefully built a discreet chamber to hold a small amount of her mum’s ashes, allowing her to keep that connection close every day while wearing a beautiful, contemporary piece.

A client recently caught her malachite bracelet on a jacket sleeve, leaving it badly twisted and out of shape. Thankfully, we were able to carefully restore the bracelet and return it to its original form, ready to be worn again.
