The bedazzled model Ford Escort
Russell Lord has always had a passion for bespoke jewellery and cars, and thanks to the encouragement from Russell Lord’s son Bobby he went on to finish this amazing model. The 16.5cm Ford Escort replica model, which he had worked on over the years, took Russell Lord more than 1,500 hours to complete and cost roughly around 70K to make.
The body of the model car is made from silver, featuring gold brakes that move, rear spoiler, wheels and bonnet hinges. White gold is apparent on the front grille.
On the diamond-encrusted ford escort, you’ll see diamonds included on the headlights, with orange sapphire indicators and ruby rear brake lights. And not to mention the glass windows, which involved smashing countless vases to get exactly the right curve to add even further intricate detail to the vehicle’s model.
The miniature car was auctioned on the car auction website, with profits donated to charities such as SNAP (Special Needs and Parents) and The Maddi Foundation. The charities will benefit from the sale of the car, with proceeds going to help fund their research and support their work.
